Saturday 27th August 2016. "Always the 4th Saturday in August". The Lonach Highland and Friendly Society was founded in 1823 by Sir Charles Forbes, 1st Baronet of Newe and Edinglassie (1773-1849). Membership is drawn from the inhabitants of Strathdon, who continue to fulfil the society’s original mission of preserving Highland dress and “supporting loyal, peaceful, and manly conduct; and the promotion of social and benevolent feelings among the inhabitants of the district.”
13.12.15 - New Lonach Society President
Walter Davidson was elected President of the Lonach Society at the AGM in the Lonach Hall on 12th December. Vice President is Ian Stuart.

Saturday 27th August 2016 will be the 175th Lonach Highland Gathering and Games and we are delighted to announce that the Blair Atholl Highlanders and their pipe band will be joining the Lonach Highlanders on their march. There will be a ceilidh in the Lonach Hall on the night of Lonach. Tickets for all events will go on sale mid January - watch this space!
