The organisers of Lonach Highland Gathering and Games are acutely aware of the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the current COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak, and the concerns our visitors, athletes, competitors, judges and volunteers may have. As organisers we continue to monitor and review the UK and Scottish Government’s guidance for the duration of the suspension of large events, and like everyone around the world, look forward to a swift return to a safer and more normal time.
We understand the difficulties which this level of uncertainty generates for both our overseas visitors and those who live closer to home, all of whom will have made advanced plans to get the most from their day. As more information and clarity is provided in the coming days, we will update you as quickly as we can. In the meantime with the 22nd of August and the Lonach Gathering still five months away, we continue to plan and work towards delivering another great day out.
Best wishes from

The Lonach Highland and Friendly Society was founded in 1823 by Sir Charles Forbes,
1st Baronet of Newe and Edinglassie (1773-1849).
Membership is drawn from the inhabitants of Strathdon, who continue to fulfil the society’s original mission of
preserving Highland dress and “supporting loyal, peaceful, and manly conduct; and the promotion of
social and benevolent feelings among the inhabitants of the district.”
