"Always the 4th Saturday in August"

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Management of the Lonach Highland & Friendly Society have made the difficult decision to cancel the  Lonach Gathering which would have taken place on Saturday 22 August 2020.

We apologise for any inconvenience and disappointment this may cause but the health, safety and wellbeing of everyone who attends Lonach is always our first thought.  We are now planning for the 179th Lonach Gathering to take place on Saturday 28th August 2021.
Stay safe.

The Lonach Highland and Friendly Society was founded in 1823 by Sir Charles Forbes,

1st Baronet of Newe and Edinglassie (1773-1849).

Membership is drawn from the inhabitants of Strathdon, who continue to fulfil the society’s original mission of

preserving Highland dress and “supporting loyal, peaceful, and manly conduct; and the promotion of

social and benevolent feelings among the inhabitants of the district.”

The Lonach Gathering & Games is held in the village of Bellabeg, Strathdon.
